my car seems lo hang on to the high revs for a LONG time and in a gear change its very annoying , but if i change at or rev to about 3-4 k it dies the revs fast but it takes a good 5 +seconds to drop the revs from 6-3k

ive no idea wat this could be but ive just fitted a 6 branch and a k&n and the air flow meter from my last car as the one on it was modified (wen you loosen the spring in the a/f meter box) .

and no the carpet isnt laying on the throttle (been there done that on the last car  )

Have you replaced or greased the throttle cable recently? This could be sticking, or fraying if its the original cable.

Might be worth changing it as there only around Ԛ£20 and pretty easy to do. You will notice a difference as well!

or the springy thing where the cable mounts on to could be gone, so its only slowing on friction
