Excuse the ignorance here. I think my motor has the 15 litre long range tank fiited (there appears to be a slim tank installed between the rear seat back bulkhead and the boot trim). If this is the long range tank, how does it get filled as it is above boot floor level and about the same height as the filler kneck?

Most fuel I have put in when almost dry is 51 litres, or do I have to trickle in the rest (as I beleive capacity should be 70 (55 + 15)

That's the one, I'm not quite sure how it fills up, but it can be done. I used to be able to get nealy another Ԛ£7-8 in my old M3 just by pulling the pump nozzel out and taking it easy. I think I've put 64 L in that car before.

hi
if you look in manual it says somat about having to wait for fuel level to be in red for you to be able to completely fill tank

aha

page 11 of supplementary book for m3

it says must be in red to fill right up

if its not then it will take longer which makes the pulling the nozzle out a bit make sense

is it possible to get one of these from somewhere--as the iS im putting an m5 engine in has a small 4 pot tank, and im gonna fit the 6 pot tank and one of these would finish the car off a treat..

There in lies my problem, my books in German and I don't know the language. Thanks for that, I'll make sure its well in the red next time (perhaps a can in the boot would be a good idea!
