I had a look last week as it happens.

Really don't think there's enough meat around the outside to accept a 4x108 safely to be honest.

Think your only options are either adaptors, and if it were me I'd have them made from steel instead of alloy considering the stresses they're under, or to have new hubs made.

I did consider making making some alloy hubs drilled to 4x108, but decided a better idea was to move my engine back by about 400mm instead :)

EDIT> thought I'd answered this one yesterday on a mate's computer thinking about it, or did I imagine that?! :o

Problem as I see it is that the holes are right on the edge anyway, and taking them 4mm closer leaves then with absolutely bugger all material around one side :(

Wouldn't be possible to adapt something from a Sierra would it?

Tis the first car that springs to mind with the right PCD (I think!) and RWD so that it doesn't have a driveshaft running through the middle of it.

Think the gods of automotive bodgery really would have to be grinning down on you for it to be a straight swap though!

I think your safest bet would be some sort of audi to golf mk2 adapter/spacers from germany.

Trouble is they may reduce your offset too much making the wheels stick out. I spose you could then have some machined from the inside of the wheel by a re-furb place.

Have you already thought of this?
