Iv brought a set of crystal clear lights from ebay .It says complete units .The headlights look very good but you have to use all your old headlight adjusters and plastics.I had such a nightmare and wish i had not started.my project is still not finished and the headlights will need setting up for the mot.Iv also fitted 10000 hid kit

i know some of the angel lights come with all the plastics and fittings on ebay.also get the garage to line up the lights before mot or it may fail on this and you will have to get the mot done again.i would have sent the lights back if i had not broken my ones trying to take them apart.

Ed, cheers for that. I saw those but I'm tight
Might have to go for it though if there's a pair included, and then sell the spare

I bought a set of these crystals. I can't get them to fit properly. The seller assured they fit all E30's, but the outers don't fit mine and the inners had to be bodged in. I think they only suit pre-facelift cars.
I had to cut away the plastic frames to fit the inners, but they don't fit properly and I don't think they'll pass the MOT.
The light isn't very good with them either - even with Phillips blue bulbs in.
Wish I hadn't bothered now!
Kingcruizer you must have been lucky with yours.
I'm going to end-up getting the lenses off and doing something different with them.

This was the problem I had too. The fixed mount is nowhere near lining-up, all the fittings are way off. It's like trying to fit wheels with the wrong PCD!e30cossie wrote:Iv brought a set of crystal clear lights from ebay .It says complete units .The headlights look very good but you have to use all your old headlight adjusters and plastics.I had such a nightmare and wish i had not started.my project is still not finished and the headlights will need setting up for the mot.

I'm going to be doing this soon. How do the two plastic bits of the adjusters on the inner lamps fit together? I've tried everything I can think of except brute force.kingcruizer wrote:i used the metal frames from a pre face lift and bought new adjusters from bmw, fitted easy and look great
I'll probably end-up selling them on. I don't think the light output is any better than the standard lights, as I posted above. I'll percevere(sp?) with them until the darker evenings arrive and then make a decision
I think it's naughty of the sellers to say they're a direct fit to all E30's when they need new mounts and adjusters to allow them to be fitted in face-lift cars. My $tealer tells me that the adjusters have to come from Germany and there's a possibility they may not even be available. I've had a hell of a job locating a pair of mounting panels.

essbee, sounds to me that you lights are different to mine, bmw didnt have the adjusters on the shelf but they orderd them in for me, and i got the brackets from my local scrap yard. all of the new adjusters fitted easy and i find the light from them is wicked,

So you didn't have to fit the 2 plastic bits together from opposite sides of the frame then?? If I press mine together any harder, something's bound to break!kingcruizer wrote:all of the new adjusters fitted easy
When I ordered the adjusters, the Dude said "Why don't you get a set of lamps out of a later car from the breakers?"

no, all the adjusters fitted spot on, thats why i think your lights must be different, mine were done in about 30mins, thats how easy it wasessbee wrote:So you didn't have to fit the 2 plastic bits together from opposite sides of the frame then?? If you look here... http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=63&fg=05
This is the set-up I've got.
Parts 5&6 are the adjuster. As you can see, the two parts go either side of the frame. They appear to fit by pushing them together after 5 goes through the frame from front to back, but I can't get them to lock together.
Is this the same as yours??
