Hi folks,

I've currently got a K&N 57i induction kit on my car (modded 325i), I have no complaints about the filter itself (quality, etc.) however she was drawing in hot air from the engine bay (she was losing power on a dyno run :( ) so I fabricated a bespoke cold air system using plumbing supplies from B&Q (as you do).

Unfortunately I believe my bespoke cold air system - although keeping the hot air out, as designed - is producing another problem, that is not letting enough air in at high revs! She feels like she's losing power, almost topping out at 4500~5000rpm, which she didn't do before. :(

So, I am considering investing in a proper cold air system, preferably one that works! That's where yourselves come in, have any of you got experience / can you recommend a good one?

I've found these at the usual outlets:
EvoSport Carbon Fibre Super Induction Kit
Pipercross Viper Kit
K&N GenII Kit*
CDA Kit

*don't know if this is available for an E30 325i...?

The EvoSport & CDA kits seem to be 'universal' whereas the Viper kit is made to fit (and reflected in the price).

Are there any other options out there?

What do you think of these?

Ta much for the help folks.

:D

I tried to look in the zone shop but on every page I just get the same message: "There are currently no products"

I have the bmc cda filter on my 325, sounds awesome and fits perfectly into the gap left by the OE airbox.

Not cheap though :?

Does the ITG filter come with a heat shield & cold air ducting?
Have you seen any power gains?

Not cheap though Confused
I assume your car still pulls cleanly thru the whole rev range, she doesn't sound or feel 'strangled' (like she's gasping for air...)?
Is your engine modified in any other way?

Thanks for your help folks! :D

ITG filter is not shielded, unless you do it yourself.

BMC appears to be the daddy but is 190 sheets with the kit 8O

I'll give the ITG a miss then (basically same as I already have with the K&N 57i).

If the BMC CDA kit really works I wouldn't necessarily begrudge the £190, but if it made no difference I'd be right p*ssed :x

If that were the case I'd rather spend the money on an ARB kit instead, mmm... :?
