if it has all the correct parts and body is good id say about 4 - 4.5K, mileage is a bit high, who did the engine rebuild?

Hello and welcome :-)

do you drive an e30 at the moment? Because an Alpina is really jumping in at the deep end for your 1st e30!

(I am on my 4th e30, back down to a 318i for now (from a 320i), hoping to get a 325i next year when I am 25)

Personally, I wouldn't buy a car from anyone who boasts about a bullshit top speed, but that's just me, I must be getting old!

they are good for about 140 something

all the parts?!

plaque, digital air vent gague? roll bars, shocks springs, wheels, body kit, stripes, s/wheel, gear nob, engine, manifold, exhaust, seats there's more i can't remember!

there's alot of stuff they could come with and alot didn't come with the full spec. This is where it can difficult as each car really was a one off due to the flexibilty of bmw and alpina in allowing u to build a car to your own spec. Eg touring, cab, 4 door, 2 door then bmw options and alpina options thrown in too. my alpina came with all the alpina options bar the digital air vent guage. I've seen some with no alpina styling just the engine and mechanicals and it came new looking like a bog standard touring.

As always milege isn't an issue if the car has been loved. The only way u can tell this is by driving it and seeing it in the flesh.

IF all the parts are there it started off life with and it's a big if as alot have parts missing then it's worth good money.

Paperwork proving it's origin has a massive bearing on this imo. Great cars but a minefield when looking for one and a big headache. Just do your research and know your stuff before viewing. As most alpina's are money pits like any other E30. But the missing parts cost alot alot more to find replace which are missing and they all have bits which have gone walkies along the way!

Eg buying 325i sport without it's 15bbs rims is no prob a good set for £200 can be had.

Alpina rims? alot more money £600 plus for a good set and thats a big waiting game for a set to appear forsale. Get the picture

tread carefully!

Welcome to the zone mate, judging by your name im guessing you have an e36 M3 GT? Nice car, very under rated 8)

As for jumping in at the deep end - its the best way!

Thank you for your comments / contributions (albeit some are not so kind).

Ben - Yes i do have an M3GT and luv it to bits....but i guess i just gotta craving for a c2 2.7, its mint and its quick.....i'm not really bothered if it does do 150mph (but it's NOT bulshit- however, I can't vouch for whether the clocks are out or not), the M3GT is quick enough!!!!....

Hopefully I'll have the c2.7 in a few days and will try and get the GT and Alpina to Gaydon......just need another driver!!!

Regards

I can certainly vouch for the speed of an M3 GT, my aunt has one of the LHD ones and i was seriously considering buying one a month ago, they are without a doubt the best car in the whole of the E36 range.

Your right - top speed is completely meaningless, its all about acceleration and handling

Get some pics up mate

I found the same, the e46 M3 i drove was far too refined for my taste, i still prefer my E30 M3 over either one of them though but thats just me!

You should certainly give one a try if you get the chance, the handling and balance are absolutely spot on.

Only downside compaired to your GT would be the comparative lack of power - and without that gorgeous interior!
