Basically i now have sourced all my basic parts to put my 2.7 together.
i.e eta crank, early 2.5 pistons and late 2.5 everything else.
What i want to do is take it all to someone and pay them to put it together
machining what ever is necessary to get the desired compression ratio and the engine working.
Neither me or jonb know anywhere round here who comes recomended,
can anyone help please! Even if they are close to Bristol i dont mind a short drive for the right place......
cheers
tom

I can recommend Neil Garner in Kemble. www.neilgarner.co.uk
Ex Renault F1, has done some great work on my 325, and lots of engine work on an E30 race car (carb conversion etc).
Also a bit further afield, Steve Rowley in Cheltenham... http://www.bmw-saab.co.uk . Have done lots of MOT prep and a head build on my car. One of the techs there has built his own E30 2.7 conversion so will know what to do.

yeah right jon.
after i went down there a couple of weeks ago they do know there stuff as they are putting an s50 engine and running gear into an e30 and that aint a job for any one!!
Nice blokes too, had a good chat.
All though he did buy my BBS kit for the car which i must say wont do the car justice when its done, i would have gone for a tech II but thats just my opinion!

hhm.
i met the bloke a couple of years back. he seemed ok, but didnt really seem to know much about what he was doing.
some bloke i know, took his e34 535i there to have a auto box fitted(about a year ago). he picked the car up and noticed it was sliping on the way back, as he pulled into his house he lost all drive. he rang them to ask what was going on but they avioded the whole thing. the box they put in was fucked.
he paid them over a grand to do that.
he broke the turd soon after to get some money back. poor lad.
the lotus story is shocking....

What yard? Its tiny where they are, no yard what so ever! And im sure the other people in the units around them would said something about donuts everywhere!Drowningman wrote:When i first got into e30s they sold me an obc for my 318 is and promised me i didnt need a wiring loom they said it just went in where the clock is and i paid 45 quid for it when i realised it did need a wiring loom i went back and they said they would sell me one for £35 and would not take the obc back
My friend also took his lotus carlton to them to have an alarm fitted and said he would be back to collect the car at 4he got out off work early and headed down there at about 3pm to find them taking it in turns to do donuts in there yard he said he wouldnt pay for the alarm and they wouldnt give him his keys and it got quite messey.
That may have just been one bad experience but i love my car and the thought of someone thrashing the tits of it would ruin it for me

they have their workshop and down another 200m.. they have the bit where they keep all their breakers...if you failed to see that huge expanse of potholed gravel..i dont think me explaining it to you will help
that huge bit down the way as you said is full up of their breakers so no room there for donuts! the whole of that estate (i use the word losely) is bodyshops and garages so theres cars everywhere. the other end by steve mead plant hire is as is everywhere full of pot holes so would be fragging rims left right and centre......
aint calling you a liar mate so calm the fuck down, they just dont strike me as being the type thats what im saying.
James from the place is a member of this forum so maybe if he reads this thread he would care to comment..........
