How quickly does yours go out when you start the car?
I ask because mine seems to be taking longer. It goes out just as the car settles down to idle, about 2 or 3 seconds or so. Not a huge amount of time but if it's a sign of impending doom i'd like to get on top of it ASAP. For the moment i turn the engine over for 5 seconds or so to get the pressure up a bit before putting the obc immobiliser code in, then start up. Light is OK then and goes out pretty much as the car fires up.

Doubt if that's the problem then, but a new one would be an easy and cheap thing to try.agent006 wrote:About 3000 miles ago, with a genuine BMW one.Brianmoooore wrote:When was the oil filter last changed, and for what?
Next cheap and easy thing would be a new oil pressure switch.

Just above the sump top, front right side of engine, Remove connector, unscrew.

I assume this will involve a fair amount of spillage of the sump contents, or is it above the oil level?
