I do love the 1 series, a rear wheel drive car that I can park! I would be dangerous with that much power though!

a mate i know has a 1 series company car, he hates it and im in 2 minds, its only a 116i so not the best model, handles ok but its driver position is not all that good, couldn't see behind that well and you have to post the key in a letterbox to activate the push button start. the hartage does look sweet though

sorry have to go against everyone here, i wouldnt pay 50k or 70k whatever the asking price is for a butt ugly BMW. Why pay that when you can get a better looking BMW for that price, Z4 for example?

Must be a bugger to service - even changing the spark plugs looks like an engine-out job!

Nice engine, but the 1 series fell out of the top of the Fugly tree and hit every branch on the way down
I'm sure Hartge didn't have much trouble getting the thing wired in either. Much more of the 1 series electronics would be compatible, and they would have major support from BMW. Glenn sticking one in an E30 - now that's impressive
Ian.

I have spoken to the guy who got to drive this car back from Germany and he said the closest car he had ever driven with the same kind acceleration was a 450bhp TVR Griffith, he said the car was doing 180mph in Germany with no real strain at all. Its a really good conversion!

Has anyone else pulled up behind a 1-series in trafic?
With that concave tailgate it turns the reflection of your own car upside down!

in all honesty, ive actually quite fallen for the 1 series! im not too keen on their looks, but they handle amazingly! you can just throw the thing round corners of all types at all speeds and it just sticks! the 120d has to be the best though. they're seriously nippy little cars!
although the 130i M Sport...
