This is described as an "unloader relay" on a wiring diagram I have seen (although not one applicable to my car) and it seems to have something to do with the heated seats (which I am fitting in due course).

Can anyone please tell me what it does?

many thanks

Andrew

K9 is a relay for the rear fogs and is only fitted for some markets.
K5 and K7 are the unloader relays, and disconnect certain circuits when the starter motor is in use.

Thanks, that's very helpful.

Do you by any chance have any real wiring diagrams applicable to a 1992 325 cab?

Best online source of wiring diagrams I know is at www.autolib.diakom.ru
Look under auto and search the drop downs for "mitchell on demand".
