Alright everyone, I'm new to e30zone!!

Currently I have a E46 320Ci (the 2.2 six pot one) but I used to own a mint E30 325i Sport 2 door and a E36 318iS Coupe. I still regard the 325 as the best BMW i have owned for sheer driving pleasure and tail out fun.

I'm currently looking into the E30 M3 market for a good project/weekend/track car and I thought I would make e30 zone my first stop. Its going to be a 2nd car so I am not looking to spend a fortune, but I obviously dont want a dog. Wheres the best place to start looking in the UK? What about importing one from Germany etc?

Also is there uch difference between the 195bhp model and the 215bhp car?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

PS Sorry in advance if this has been covered a million times already.........

hi and welcome
there is quite a lot of debate over the differences between the 195 and 215 versions

of course there is 20 horse power
the later cars shared a lot of engine components from the evo2

if i remember correctly some of the extra power was gained from larger throttle bodies and a bigger air box
tho many say the actual difference on the road is negligible

the later cars had mtech 2 steering wheels as opposed to mtech1
im sure there are more

good luck in your search in my opinion a nice car well looked after with good documented history is a must

there is a link in the ebay section of this site to a black one with 78k 215 hp with bbs rims and leather
may be worth looking at

Thanks for the comments, still looking. That last ebay post was interesting, bit of a chequered history tho - might be good for the track tho as I am planning a rebuild anyway.

If you don't mind having one thats HPI registered (considering its going to be a track car) my one will be back on the road in about 1 week and I may sell it as I have just bought an M Coupe. I have pictures of the accident and the rebuild. It was in very good condition before the accident (looked after by Munich legends with an engine rebuild and timing chain costing 4.5k about 30k miles ago). Has lots of new bits and will have a full respray. It has no rust at all.
