They come up on ebay ever so often... or dealers!
Most South.African cars have them on as standard...
I had a car with one a while ago, as it was sitting a little bit lower it would continually "twang" on speed bumps, people always thought Iwas doing damaged to the car...
Its also a complete arse to change the oil...it goes everywhere!

That doesn't look like any genuine BMW sump guard that i've seen before. Genuine ones are much bigger and beefier than that.DanThe wrote:£114 from the dealersDunx wrote:And where can you get one of those?ed325i wrote:fit one of these

This is what mine looks like:DanThe wrote:must be why we have different fitting undertrays then Ian

Regarding the undertray. Looking at that picture reminded me that I didn't have to trim the undertray to fit the sumpguard, it was to clear the M50 sump itself.

I assure you it is a fuckin real one - standard oe fit to SA cars. I've never seen a blue whale in the flesh, does that mean they aren't real?ian332isport wrote:That doesn't look like any genuine BMW sump guard that i've seen before. ETK/realoem won't show it because they've got bugger all info on SA spec E30's - try popping an SA Vin in and see what comes up?
Dan, I'm still working on the piccies

Yeah - I have one of these: it came off a SA import too. Pays to stick a cut top hose up the hole to the sump drain hole when draining the oil, or like someone said - it goes everywhere.....

So is that yes attitude, or no attitude?boomer wrote:Actually yes because the statement implies that the one I sold Dan was not a genuine one.
Especially when It's my photo showing the sumpguard.
Attitude?
Not me fella, I know you mods are far to busy for that
Ian made a fair comment about never seeing one before, (neither have I) we all learn something new, and it seems that the one pictured is SA only, hence not many people on a UK forum seeing them before.
There was no need for the language.

What I said was:
'That doesn't look like any genuine BMW sump guard that i've seen before."
I didn't say it wasn't genuine, just that it's not like the ones I have ever seen. I've got a totally different BMW sump guard on my car, so it was a fair statement.
Just chill out. Life's to short to get stressed on an Internet forum (or anywhere else for that matter)
