Advice needed from our knowledgeable fraternity !!
I need to replace the exhaust on my recently acquired 318is and am not sure of the best course of action.
I bought the car knowing it needed some attention...exhaust, brake pipes and wheel bearing were MoT failure points.
Standard exhaust catalogues for the model show the system as having a CAT but I'm not so sure. There are no cable or sensor connections on the current system. It is blowing at both ends of the small centre box and also at the front end of the front box so it looks like a full system is needed.
The usual main exhaust centres all state the front section is unavailable.
My first question is this: Does it sound like mine is NOT a CAT exhaust?
also, whether it is or isn't, as its not necessary on my car anyway, where can I get a 'reasonably priced' full system?

Having read a number of posts in the last few days on here I'm sure my dilemma is not unique.

Help please!!!

ive never seen an iS with a cat on it. the E36 iS's had cats on them, but that was due to legislation.

the iS is a bastard to find exhausts for! im thinking about getting my iS a Hayward and Scott system, but it isnt cheap!

bunker bill could you down size your avatar please, if you don't mind, its difficult reading.

Ive got same problem as you im gona get my way to calder coachworks in scotland and they make on to fit the car. about £300 is the price of a complete exhaust made by powerflow. search google for your local fitter.

What tailpipe are you looking for, im undisided at the moment.

Keep us informed. Hope you get the MOT, mine needs brakes sorting as well.
