Oh right there was a '2.7' for sale that I looked up lachs silver 4dr, also supposedly had an LSD - not so. Also had hartge suspension - not so. Glad it wasnt this car! Alpina chip can't be a bad sign!

Yes mate, he was a funny bloke, was fairly unhappy when I demonstrated that he didn't have an LSD, car went and sounded like a piece of shit, 2.7 or not (my guess is not). Hartge suspension hadn't ever been fitted according to birds (despite his claims to the contrary), it had also been involved in an accident. Had a lovely manifold which I was getting all excited about, but apart from that, very average. He said he sold it for £1150!!!

oh yeah and it had remoulds on! living on the edge!!

dont do it, the car will drwon in fuel and be retarded on the ign side

to tect the claimed 2.5, pull a plug on your 2.5, and pop a bit of wire coathanger into the hole, and then turn the engineover by hand and mark the lowest point on your rod.

then repaeat for the "2.7", the 2.7 should have a longer throw crank inside, therefore the mark shoul not line up at all.

rought test but it works

also check for 27E cast into the block low on the passenger side under the dipstick tube, or better still, plull the cap and rotor and see if there's a vernier pulley.

probably gonna be all BS but you never know your luck
