you know you need pcd 4x100 right? good

well et refers to how far in or out a wheel sticks in the arch in simple terms. Each car has a specific number that the car is set up too. if the Et is wrong, all sorts of problems occur, like wobling wheels, incorrect tyre wear (happened on my golf) and even wheel bearing failure

like stuart says, spacers can be used to correct this but will again eat wheel bearings

the Et of an e30 with four stud fitment (yours) is et25. i would imagine you can get away with a few higher or lower each side, but thigns like et40 i would steer clear off!

HTH

Ps the difference in handling with 16s and 17s on is remarkable! I would recommend 16s at the highest mate, especially now you have the power to drive the car properly!

Explain how ET can cause wheel wobble or add to tyre wear??? Incorrect centrebore or using non hubcentric spacers can cause wheel wobble. If they are correct and you have wheel wobble you either have worn bushes or balljoints on the car or your wheel needs a balance, you have a buckle or your tyre has a manufacturing defect.

If your ET is wrong you'll either have the wheel rubbing on the struts (ET too high approx ET30+) or the wheel rubbing on the arch if the ET is too low (with a 7" rim approx ET13-).

ET is half the story of knowing if a wheel will fit. You need to know the width of the rim and the tyre you plan to fit (width, aspect ratio and make as different makes and models differ significantly).

it caused vibration though the car not wheel woble

re: et and tyre wear, my golf was well and ttruly shagged so it obvioulsy wasnt incorrect ET

I can get these elsewhere but not sure i can get em in the exact size/fitment i need:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Keskin-KT5-7-5-9x ... dZViewItem

Anyone see a problem with these? main concern is obviouly the Rears as there 9j's .. my drop is 40mm on standard shocks..atm still got bags of room between arch and tyre even on 17's (30-40mm)

Advert is stating no probs with e30's though i take that with a pinch of salt cuz setups vary alot

thks peeps

have you seen Azev C's? like on Morudy's cab? they're cool!

but just look at Twiggy's Borbet B's

The 9x16 rears with an ET of 15 will rub like a 13 year old with a copy of Razzle.

They can be made to fit with pulled rear arches but that's not what you're asking is it?

Thats not true, i had 9x16's et 15 on the rear of mine and had no rubbing issues, until 2 in the back and going over humps. that was with a 35mm drop.

9x16 with et15 upfront dont work tho, they rub the strut bad so spacers needed or lower ofset.

Jamz them KT5's are pants really are, KT1's are lovely as well as KT4's. I know a place in germany that does them cheap if you want to know. anyother help just give us a shout mate.

Nav! sup m8

Im just not sure.. its between the KT5 7.5jx16 ET25:
These look very nice on a CaB..google some pics
Image

OR the KT4 which will be 8jx17 ET30.. pretty sure i wont get any issues aslong as i go no more than 215 tyres:
Image

KT4's will be approx 100 notes dearer aswell as the tyres hitting the roof..really undecided but im swaying towards the KT5! only because its keeping to the look i wanted wiht the RH Toplines Disc shape

KT5 on a CaB:
Image
Am i the only one that thinks they look decent?.. there different and suit the cab's lines without a doubt..roof up maybe not but roof down..come on

Look nice but Black wont go with my colour.. thought about it once but im sure it wont look right..Plus ive decided to move away from the spoke thing..done to death on CaB's,wanna be a bit different hence my decision to go for the Topline, thats didnt work out in the end so ive decided to go for the KT5's..

The more i think about it the more i think ive made the right decision..Better handling on 16's,Cheaper on rim and tyre and IMO look nice...

I'm surprised by that Nav, My rears are only 8.5j ET13 (so 2mm further out but a 1/2" thinner rim) and they rub like a bitch - i.e. wouldn't even rotate until the arches were 'massaged'.

Lol.. My guy is still waiting on my decision...if only i could get them KT5's on the black cab in 17's..you can but would need work to get em to fit amongst big ass spacers... think there 8J x 17'' ET38 or something around them figures..Plus the ones on the Cab are 9J x 16 .. i would only goto 7.5J x 16 so they wouldnt look as nice plus i think that black cab is running lower than 40mm drop, but they are a pefect fitment for the E30 as regards to ET etc etc

On the outher hand ive got the KT4's (spoked) which will come in the 17'' and look a lil bit more suited..look like a chunky version of BB's

Damm ive never took so long on making a decision on a Mod

Really need to make my mind up tonight though

sorry for being a lazy bar steward and not reading back through the thread, so apologies if this has been mentioned already....

Have you thought about going 5 stud?

if so, then what about the absolutely lush BMW type 5 alloys C76Jon had for sale (assuming not already sold)
http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... ic&t=37723

alternatively, JonB had some tasty dished MIMs I saw a pic of the other day, again not sure if these may have sold as Jhonno may have been interested I think.

just some suggestions

Sup dude,

Tbh more work and time... Serioulsy i just wanna get these shoes sorted and start driving my car again..tis been too long already! :?

If i had more time i think i would seriously think about it... e30 has to be on eof the worst cars to find rims for...4 stud with that ET really sux and has farked up a lot of choices rim wise..though to be fair most alloys truly suk..im very picky winkeye .. went for the Pina reps when i first brought the car cuz they were easy to find and i knew they would suit...going this route isnt so easy..not all wheels, hardly any infact suit the e30 IMO..

thks for ALL the suggestions and comments though....kinda helps  ..sort of :)

Why am i worried about the size for?... 17 is way more apealing atm than the 16's especaily as i only got 40mm drop and dont really wanna go any lower..no more money being spent on the car for a long time..well untill MS..but thats it! winkeye

Kt5 or Kt4 / Kt5 or Kt4??

AHHhhh

Told yer.. they look much better on..and i think will look even better with my Colour..You can get Gold centre caps too for those which will match the gold flick ive got..think there look very tasty.. just gota get my head round the 16'' bit..

What size tyre would still give me the low profile look on 16''s? anyone know
