That is not a BMW wind deflector. The BMW one is a different shape.
Don't know the part number off hand.
Try E bay for one ... especially in Germany. Or there's a post in the chat forum that says they're 220 quid new from a dealer.

thanks so much guys!

never thought i'd get a lot of replies! problem is that i'm from the philipines and i guess it would cost an arm and a leg to have those parts shipped here.
nevertheless, i want to say thanks to everyone! any suggestions wher i can get them realy really cheap so atleast even if i get an arm and a leg shipping, it would still be ok but then again... desperate measures

That's a picture of my old convertible... and the wind defelctor came from Classic Additions in the link already provided. They make SO much difference!
Hope this helps,
Giles.

That IS the original BMW one posted by ed325i, here's a pic of it fitted to my car.
Try searching on German ebay for a 'Windschott', got mine shipped to UK from Germany for £92 including shipping. Lots more available used from Germany.
Andy.

Just dont get this wind deflector thing.Sureley the point of driving a cab is to get the sun and wind in all its elements.Could undrestand ii if it was a woman coming straight out of the hairdressers but why the hell would blokes want one?.Pureley a personal opininion i know but i can think of a lot better things to spend 200 + sovs on.

have you got a cab.....if you had one you would know that a wind deflector makes driving with the top down at speed possible...i came up the m1 from aces at 80- 100 mph with it down and listening to music ...without a deflector it would have been 40

wind deflector wrongness. put the roof up!!!!
happily do 90 with top down listening to music, obviuosly on a track as 90mph is illegal and I don't condone excess speed.

DO they make that much difference? I had considered buying one but wasn't too sure if it was worth shelling out that much dosh.
Comments please (especially from deflector owners)..........

They make a big difference as all the wind in a convert is kinda turbulent from the rear forward. I do prefer the deflector down at slow speed....wind in the hair thing. However my 2 1/2 yr old daughter rides with me too and prefers not to lose her hat so the deflector goes up. Plus stops the headache kinda thing when motowaying for a distance. A nice to have option. Music from standard system is more audible. Also converts the car to a two seater with some extra rear underneath safe storage in the cabin where without it everything normally evacuates the car over 70mph.
As it actually is.......an optional extra.
Cheers,
Andy
