Hello all.

I have a 1991 325i Convertible, i would like to change the exhaust but i would like a deep note, not all noise and squeaks etc, just a lovely sounding one. I dont know too much about E30 as just starting so all advise on where i can get one and which exhaust i have / need would be great.

Does anyone know why my car also seems slower when its warm/hot? ever since i had the thermostat changed, on a long run the temp guage will sit at 1st bar AFTER middle. am worried its leaning the mixture out a fair bit and am doing 2000 miles in the car in 4 weeks.

thanks for all help

Welcome to the zone!
Car will run a rich mixture if it's too cool, but won't lean out if it's slightly too hot.
Could be worth trying another stat, but it could be the gauge telling lies of course. There is a brass nut on the back of the instrument cluster which frequently works loose, and will make the gauge read slightly high if it does, although usually intermittently.
This should really be in "tech help", so I'll move it for you.

just a note about your exhaust note mate, the link will let you hear my 2.5 on full throttle going rather fast, the exhaust is a remus stainless but only the 3" twin rolled ends not the 3.5", and induction kit comes in the form of a pipercross viper carbon fiber jobbie.

she howls like a banshee when she is stretching her legs but she does purr like a lion cub on tickover. if you are after one of those really really boomy ones that saxo's and punto's have dont buy this one, its loud enough to be heard but its when the throttle os open wide that it makes itself heard. to my ears it sounds like a proper racer, not a kid tryin to pretend his 1 litre is really a monster! all down to personal taste of course!

exhaust is £340 with lifetime garentee
airfilter is £250 and took all of two minutes to fit!
