i've got a Safety Devices full bolt in cage in my 325i. It's good quality, and you don't have to butcher the dash to get it to fit. Let them know whether you have a sunroof, and that it's a 2 door, as the cages are different.

I've a 325i track - you've made good choice, a cage is always nice but probably not essential for track days, definately go for a bolt in not a weld in, a mate went weld in for his m3 and it is a huge job and definitely one for a pofessional welder
I'm after a cage myself the options I've looked at are safety devices and omp, safety devices seem better quality and are what the kumho and seloc guys tend to use althought safety devices might be having a bit of trouble as I was told by demons the minimum order was now 5 cages, I'd be interested to know where you get to here
if anyone out there has anything used for sale let me know
I wouldn't bother swapping the dash loads of hassle and frankly there is not much weight saving to be had, I just removed glove box and consol etc

Would need a removable cross brace so I can still carry things and low door bars for easy everyday access

The 2 tourers in the PBMW pic above have "custom cages" cages in, with some modification and additional bars I believe.

I drove me dads Merc the other day, its about 2 ton then spent the rest of the day moving furniture in a lorry, made me think how vunerable I am in the E30, if I had an accident with either I would be toast.
As long as it wasnt restrictive getting in and out im seriously thinking about cageing my car

I bought a OMP from Deamon Tweeks. On quality but a pal of mine who's fitted a few for rally cars said he thought the quality was very good for the money (£400 approx)
It's going in the track car as I've see a couple of Roll overs on the track and I'm not talking lotto wise..An Honda Integra type R (3 rolls) and a 306 (2 rolls)..
I'll post the pics once it's done.
Cheers
Ian

The Isle of Man: No National Speed Limit, No Gatso's, No Nanny State, a disused airfield track 1.5 miles long, the best mountain road to drive on...Come and Play!
