Hi

Has anyone fitted 304/304 camshaft to their 2.5 or 2.7

I'm thinking of fitting one to my eta 2.7 with 2.5 head.

Can anyone tell me if I may encounter any problems.

I know I also need the uprated valve springs and set the idle higher

Thanks

You will have very lumpy idle.
No torque low down.
Is this on a race car cause. It will make an aweful road with these cams

Wow, you'd have such a bad idle / drivability with the plenum intake, and unless you can extend the rev range I bet you'd never realise the full potential of the cam.

its probably the fact that the idle speed would have to be too high Dan, i think all cars need to idle steadily below either 1200 or 1500 rm, not sure which, to be able to pass

288/288 is the max you want to go for a road car. Idle will still be quite lumpy but it will pass MOT.

272 is almost not worth it from the experience some people have had.

284/272 really wakes the M20 up and there are no piston to valve clearance problems either.

that cam would never make the HC cutoff due to the high overlap employed, to get any benifits you'd need Tb's just to get it to run cleanly .

Not worth the effort dude !

Watch for valve/piston clashing on anything over 272/272 using the ETA pistons, the valve cutouts are very shallow
