What a fkin nightmare..

Got the pirelles put on today x 4 went back to fit my new rims on the cab not only to see what Toplines will look like on a CaB but to actually drive my car now its been Turbofied!!!!

The bastage rims dont fit!.. go on the Hub ok but the threads are wrong though they are orig toplines made in germany etc and were surposed to be Golf fitment...wtf!

luckly its a zoner whos coming round to sort this mess out..but whats happened here?... looks like if a bit of alloy was filed away on the inside of each hole i could get the bolts through but is this a good idea?

Hub size is spot on..nice and tight both rims and hub are 57.1mm so i got no probs there..only the bolts

Sunny day..ACE today and my cars turbo'd and yet i STILL cant drive it cuz i got this shyte to deal with!!

Sorry to hear this, cant realy help you with it, but i would guess just drilling them out would be ok, as it cant put it off balance much at all. :?

Right a little more detail needed to help on this on fella.

What part is too wide, the actual threaded part of the bolt or the head section?

If its the head section there are narrow bolts on the market which use an allen key style fitting. ill have a look for a picture

No what i mean is the Alloy is hiding part of each thread on the hub...you with me? prolly 2-3mm max on each thread..

IE if i filed away part of the alloy on the inside on each hole i could then see all the thread to get a bolt to screw too..

if you do file them out you'll have to use "wobbly bolts" as the shamfer will pull the bolt away from the holes in the hub!

as appletree said wobbly bolts may help (also called variation bolts)

Im not sure if they will give you enough adjustment as they are designed for fitting 4*100 pcd wheels to vehicles with 4*98pcd.

If they were off a vw they should go straight on? :?

They have gone back...not even gunna bother with em..luckly i can get a refund on the rubber too which i just paid out £280 for :?

Basically he brought them but never fitted em,at the time he was alos told they came stright off a BMW even though he intended to use on a VW so didnt think anything of it..decided to sell em as things changed a bit,i brought em and this lil problem came to light... basically the bloke who sold em shafted him big time and if i didnt know this Zoner then that could of happened to me too..

On a hunt now for some outher rims..preferb Toplines but i aint gunna pay stupid money for em thats for sure..

Im hoping to actualy drive my Cab before the summer comes and goes!!

DAMN Man!! So annoyed at those wheels!!
I think there 4 x 108 mate looked on the net and Audi 80, 90 and 100 are 4 x 108, the holes were too far out/apart for 4 x 98/100.
So f***ing annoying for you and me big time!!
Just lucky you can get the £Â£ back on the tyres!!

Ill measure them up tomorrow and see what PCD they really are, ill send some stiff emails to Germany and ebay them soon, probably sell for about £20

Going to have to sell the toplines on my golf asap to cover the cost of my new wheels! Crazy day man!! So sorry!! Ill be over tomorrow anyway,
Take it easy,

Matt

Bud the small vibrations i had with them wheels got on my danglys..couldnt have that now ive gone the FI route..

Let me tell yer how fuckin pissed off i am.. got over that nob jockey Tourindaddy ripping me and Jon_bmw off now i got stare at 4x toplines all in my Cab colour (more or less) with brand new pirelli p7000 rubber on and they dont farkin fit!..on top of that ive done about 3 miles in a car thats been turbo'd 2 weeks now and i cant drive it!! completely gutted

Now i gota go through the PITA job trying to find rims that suit my car and it aint easy plus im on a budget

2 people on here were selling toplines...they either want more than what ive got or theyve changed there mind which sux though i dont blame either of em..

whole thing is getting boring now TBH

Stick your bottletops on and melt the rubber with your new turbo. Get it out of your system before the expensive boots go on!!
