Cleaning Hoses etc

Anyone got any advise or tips on bringing em back to new looking.. have a few scrappy jobs which are caked in crap of which most is off and the original ones i have coolant etc have the factory yellow film amongst outher stuff on em....whats the best solution to use without Dmg'n the rubber

hot soapy water to get crap off then silicone spray to protect them, stop cracking etc (halfrauds sell it in 500ml yellow tins for doing window seals etc)

doesnt paraffin eat rubber??

yeah parafin can eat rubber, dont try it! Have you tried GUNK? Worked wonders for me. Failing that treat your self to some samcos baby, mmmm hose porn mmmm

Yeah, 'Gunk' degreaser worked nicely on mine (especially the new foam action one - which stinks but is good stuff!) then a good rinse and finally 'polish' them with back to black. Some of my old hoses came up like new!

I forgot how much that stuff stinks

Last time I did my bay I went overboard, the stink lasted out 8 majic trees LOL

So whats the best stuff to remove engine laquer? My air box is covered in the crap. I would use thinners but it will dull the plastic

Why not just buy a new set from the dealer?

Paid Ã‚£63 for a full set including new hose clips when I did mine!

EDIT> Slight lie, didn't get the throttle heater hose but still!
