IS THERE A RELAY (5HE 003 795-01) THAT FITS TO SIDE OF CENTRAL LOCKING RELAY AND GIVES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DELAYED `SOFT OFF` OPTION AS WITH LATER E36 MODELS?

No, not as such, but there was a post yesterday about a "relay" from an E23, which from the wiring diagrams, is fittable to an E30, but not necessarily into the same socket.NigelA wrote:IS THERE A RELAY (5HE 003 795-01) THAT FITS TO SIDE OF CENTRAL LOCKING RELAY AND GIVES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DELAYED `SOFT OFF` OPTION AS WITH LATER E36 MODELS?
There are also aftermarket devices available.

my convertible does that when the locks are armed the lights will switch off immediately, however when unlocked, the lights will remain on for about half a minute when the doors are closed - and at this point the windows function without ignition or opening the door.

A simpler version of this is on my "to do" list.nasir325ic wrote:my convertible does that when the locks are armed the lights will switch off immediately, however when unlocked, the lights will remain on for about half a minute .
It should be possible to use the alarm system unlock pulse to trigger the light delay unit by the addition of, at the least a diode blocker, and at the most, a small relay and a couple of other parts.
