My dad had e46 320td compact which he used to let me drive, Fookin rapid, embarassed many hot hatch in that, Clio 172's, Focus ST170 etc. Anyway im going off the subject, Van aaken do upgrades chips n that, You can up the power from 150 to about 180 quite easily, Theres loads of people who do tuning options, Get some bmw mags for info.

a decent live remap would probably be the dogs

c76jon got his e46 330d done and his old 3.0d X5 too, said they were both a lot better after a remap, so i would only assume the 320 is the same

e46 320d was 136 then they upped it to 150. The new e90 320d is 163 standard.

The earlier 136hp version will give around 143hp in stock trim on a decent car and will give around 178hp on a mapped one.
The 150 engine from the later e46 will give around 145hp - 160hp in standard trim and 205hp when mapped.

bhp is fairly irrelevant when talking about diesels, its the torque and more importantly how flat and smooth the curve is that matters
