Okay, I think I found a donor car for my recently banged up 1993 E30 cabrio. My ride is a post face list car. The donor car is pre face lift. Are the fenders the same? I have a pre face lift car also, which I want to take the top opff the donor car to use on my 1990 pre face lift. The body parts I want to use on the 1993 E30 post face lift cabrio.

Any thoughts?

well, I was already afraid of that. I just wanted to verrify. I already found the fender in two places. Online and at a local BMW salvage yard.

just curious why this site says they are the same. It even recognizes that the E30 was made up to 1993, which is what this is. And my local BMW dealer I have to argue that it's an E30 and not an E36 when I call for parts. lol

any thoughts?

Hi

Understand the problem ...as need to work on chassis number and when made not registered as registration overlapped on E30 and E36 hence the confusion...but they should know

Long way to send parts from Europe but may be cheaper and easier...let me know what you want and colour as may be able to help and post TNT

Cheers

If "cabrio" hadn't posted I'd have said I'm 100% they're the same. Interested in what the differences are now though.

I tried that first. I have an email sent to the webmaster. If you look at the bumper on both a pre face lift car, which my blue one is, and a post face lift car which is my white one, it also shows as having the same bumper.

We all know they do not have the same bumper. I am not saying that the fender is not the same, but I am trying to addredd this issue before trusting that 100 %......

yes you are right it show the early modals having the same bumper as the later ones. But the front wings will be the same.

Why dont you phone the parts department at your local BMW dealer and ask them.

Hi

They will fit but some are different where mount to sill as its deeper on a cab...but check with your dealer as not always the case...no intention to mislead

Yeah....all cab wings are the same but wings from other E30s aren't.

Though you meant there was a different between pre-facelift cab and facelift cab wings :hammer:

I just called my local BMW shop. They looked up the part number for both of my vehicles, and have instructed me that both fenders are the same. Let's hope so.....so did real oem.com........

for shits and giggles....... I got a price for the parts I will be pulling off of the donor car....the fencer, hood, and door........

Fields BMW - Orlando, FL

1 Hood - $420.00
1 Fender - $281.00
1 Door Shell - $759.00

The car I will be getting from the salvage yard I think I will only be paying $500 for, and it has a good engine, tranny, diff, top, and an entire flawless body............ winkeye
