I have a 325 manual box from an 87 D reg Sport, is there and difference between this box and the ones found in the later face lift cars say H or J reg

The early motronic had dual crank sensors and these were located in the bellhousing of the gearbox to sense of the flywheel and timing trigger.

If you have an early car (twin sensor motronic) you'll need the gearbox from an early car.

An early box will fit a late car but the sensor holes will not be used.

iirc later boxes still have the holes for the sensors ??
