Hi Guys
Just got a cheap e34 for my mate - it was cheap cause it has a little bit of bodywork damage, and the steering violently vibrates @ 60mph
I later discovered that the violent shake is between 60 and 70 only, and i ave taken it up to 100mph with no problems (i really miss my old one now - such a cruiser!!!)
anyway - any ideas what it could be? i can rev it all the way to 6k no probs when accelerating - only at that certain speed does it vibrate!
apparently wheels have been balanced!
weird one!

I've got exactly the same kind of shake but at 60mph.
I think it might be front top mounts.
I'll get a few people to look at it and let you know what they find.

E34 are renowned for this , could be a number of things and, sorry there is no easy way, tie bar, track rods, mounts even your wheels need balancing or a combination. Iv had one and it took for every to sort it. I enven replaced the steeringbox as it was to tight.
For sale soon, 325 Touring (H) 1991 Jan. Auto 104K, silver BBS (black and silver) Mint sport interior. New front wings, very tidy, all bushes done front and back, Wheel bearings. Available this month. Email for further

track rod end, top mounts, crap tyres (they can look like they're balanced, but they're not - trust me!) or worn bushes can all produce this symptom.
My shake was 50-55mph - swapped my apparently-balanced wheels front to back and it's stopped most of it now...
Hope this helps...
