hi

Just realised that my dash shows a yellow light. Im guessing the engine needs looking at?

I forgot the name. Its on the speedo clocks. lights go from green, yellow and then red.
Should i worry?

anyway ive also got a starting problem. After a few seconds it starts.
also seems to over fuel and make a 'pop' noise when i lift off the accelorator.

I will replace the HT leads, sparks, full service etc etc
Is it worth replacing the coolant temp sensor like i did on my golf?

Where is the best place to buy HT leads? Engine is a 325i by the way.

I've never changed an E30 HT lead that hasn't been obviosly physically danaged. My wife's 325 touring has covered 250,000 miles on original HT leads, and runs on LPG, which is VERY sensitive to pooor ignition components.
They don't need changing, but if you insist, only use genuine BMW ones.
Find out the price first though. That should convince you they don't need changing.

About the dash light thing. What the hell is it? A service reminder or something?

Green/yellow/red LEDs are a service reminder
They start off as all green lights, and one light basically goes off per certain number of miles. BUT, it counts at the rate of 2 miles per actual mile if the engine is cold, and one and a half miles per actual mile if the engine revs are above a certain level. (Figures quoted may not be correct, but that's the general principle)
There is also a seperate inspection light (clock symbol) which is simply a 12 month timer.
Both are easily reset with a short piece of wire. (Use forum search button).
