Hi guys i quick question my daily user has suffered a cracked/puorus head and has been seeping oil into the coolant for a few months, now ive found a new head, and am getting round to refitting it this week, my question is this, all the remaining coolant hoses ive cleaned out, inc header tank, and flushed radiator, but the is still a residue of engine oil on inside of the coolant jackets etc, once the car is rebuilt up, is there anything i can add to the system to clean the oil out and then drain the system.

i did here a rumour that if i filled the system with pure water and added a couple of drops of washing up liquid that would work but i am unsure and dont want a throthy engine LOL.

cheers guys :)

use TFR mate (traffic film remover). i had this recommended on here a year or so ago and it's great. chuck some in and run it, drain, refill with dsome more, run it etc etc. i flushed mine through twice with TFR and then twice with water (a couple of days each time) and i can eat my dinner off the uinside of the hoses now!!!

costs me about £13 for a gallon from a local motor factors. i still have half left
