Hey there,
Pals has a 318i Touring, with an aftermarket immobiliser. The type as a PCB which slots in just under where the key is.
The car lights and electrics work but it is not turning over when the key is turned - I am thinking it is the immobiliser - could anyone confirm or deny this possibility?

1990 318i LUX, Alpine White, 80,000 miles, as close to mint as I'll ever get.

Depends how this immobiser is connected!
Could be, or could be the ignition switch.
The starter motor wire is a thickish black/yellow wire.
Take the cover off the top of the diagnostic socket under the bonnet and short together pins 11 and 14 with a short piece of wire.
This should turn the engine over, and start it if the ignition switch is on.
