Can anyone tell me if the flywheel bolts face to face with the crank or if there is a thin washer between

Cheers

Seem to recall that the thin washer with the 8 or so holes around the edge goes under the bolt heads and the fly seats directly on the crank.

Might be a piccy on realoem.com if you're lucky, just to confirm :)

(Just checked, that is right :D)

well in just converting my auto to manual but have missplaced a few bits and i dont want to put it altogether if the thin washer needs to be there between the crank and flywheel, if there is even a washer at all

Beware! The Manual flywheel washer/spacer is thicker than the Auto driveplate washer.

There was no washer spacer on my auto flywheel apart from the big 3 pin one that goes between the torque converter and the flywheel, also if the washer goes betwwen the bolts and the flywheel, what is it there for as it will no alter the distace betwwen the pressure plate and the release bearing

Guess it's just there to stop the bolt heads eating into the flywheel and spread the load from the bolts a bit, same as any washer used under a fastner really :)

the spacer goes between the flywheel and the end of the crank and the 8 bolts do not have any washers. Remember to use locktite on them and torque up correctly

No it doesn't, the washer sits under the bolt heads.

The flywheel parts are fitted in this order:

Flywheel
Washer
Bolts
