I have a small (about the size of a 50p coin, if that) patch of rust on the bottom of my rear wing which I was going to have cut out and sprayed by a bodyshop but I haven't yet hads a chance to get any proper quotes.
But, I saw on Wheeler Dealers the other night that Ed used a product that could convert the rust back to metal and as the rust has not yet holed would one of these products be any good and does anyone have any info as to the type of product it was? It was the programme with the MR2 resto'.
Failing that, what kind of ballpark figure do you think I'd be looking at for a cut out and respray (I'd guess replacing the wing would be unneccessary) - the only time I did take it anywhere to get a quote was a BMW dealer and there was much sucking of teeth and talking of respraying the whole side of the car which was obviously Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£s. I never did get my promised quote through the post and considering they wanted to respray the entire roof for a scratch that I ended up T-Cutting out I don't think it would have been very useful or realistic anyhow!
Cheers in advance.

arch cutting out and replacing is around Ԛ£350 (~very very ballpark fugure here!!!)
if it hasnt holed, then get it grinded away and treated then the remaining indent filled and then smoothed then repainted-will look good as new and if done properly rust shouldnt return for a looooooong time

Cheers, I was thinking about the Ԛ£300 mark. It's just finding somewhere local to me that's reputable to use as most of my friends run 'normal' newer cars so don't have much need for bodywork repairs!
Anyone know anywhere in the Essex area?

Grind the rust out with a 4" 60grit disc & treat it with rust inhibitor (KRUST etc) fill & sand.. How much paintwork depends on your car colour, i have replaced the n/s/r wheel arch on my Delphin grey Sport and only had to paint up to the 1/4 panel line pinstripe..AARONM3 wrote:I have a small (about the size of a 50p coin, if that) patch of rust on the bottom of my rear wing
