Is this a mad idea, can one of the newer 330D engines be installed in an E30?
Lots of torque power and economy. What do zoners think

I think that its definitely worth a shot, I drove a 330D saloon last year and that torque was really impressive. It doesn't wail like an M20 of course, but you'll never stall it :D

Ive seen a 330D engine in an E30 M3. It was converted by a guy local to me, although I dont know how well the conversion was done. It sounded rough, but the car was bloody quick 8O

There was also an E30 M3 with the 330D engine on ebay a couple years ago.

could be wrong but someone said to me that a 320d with a chipped ecu and a few small mods could put the 330d to shame 8O

could be worth looking into
if its true then surely it would be a lot cheaper conversion and even better mpg maybe :D
