Hi have a 325i trackday car and want to upgrade the cooling system to prevent over heating on heavy track use. I was thinking a 535 rad and electric fans. Any ideas.
Thanks for your time dave

If the engine is standard, just keep the standard cooling in good nick, and it will not overheat. If it does, something is wrong! Even when given absolute hell, an M20 engine in good nick should not show much over halfway on the water temperature indicator.
An over-cooled engine is not a good thing either, unfortunately.

Hi the engine is standard but the gauge nundges slighly over centre(in between 1/2 and 3/4) max after several laps, just a precaution really. would prefer a fan on a switch rather than the bmw one.

Radiators are 100,000 mile service items. Try a new standard one.

Have you tried flushing it out? You'd be surprised how much crap comes out.

You'll be surprised how much crap DOESN'T come out. That's why they're service items.Adammcf wrote:Have you tried flushing it out? You'd be surprised how much crap comes out.
