The car has a squeek from the back and I'ts been suggested that the shock mounts have gone.

Can someone talk me through how hard it is to change them please

To change the top mounts remove rear seat side bolsters(undo the 10mm bolt at the bottom and push the bolster up ward to remove it),remove the boot trim(3x cross head screws and one 10mm plastic nut),remove the seat belt spool( one 17mm(?) bolt),undo the top damper nut(clamp the flat top part of the damper with some mole grips to stop the damper from turning as you undo the nut,be care full not to lose the nut down the back).

Jack the rear of the car up and pull the damper rod down, this can be tricky as the damper can stick to the iner part of the mount, use plenty of WD40 and some mole grips on the top of the damper(the flat bits again)and anouther pair of grips to try to twist off the inner part of the top mount.I was lucky, mine didn't stick.

Working from in side the boot, remove the two 13mm nuts that hold the mount to the body, again be care full not to drop the nuts.

I always find it easier to remove and refit the top mount still attached to the damper. This means that you don't have to undo the damper nut and hold the damper shaft still in such a restricted space
