When you remove the door handles you need the poppers fitted to pop open the doors, these can be wired up to the alarm. Are you going to be removing the rubbing strips from down the sides ?

De-lock it if you must, but dont get rid of the door handles, looks odd imho. Just sort out that aerial, get the tech 2 holes drilled first, (obviously!) replace that wing, and get it sprayed up :D . Then i can nick it off you for a drive :D .

it looks good on a lot of show cars but i dunno on an e30.

apart from the fact that if your battery dies. the car battery not the remote then u have no access to the engine bay or the inside of the car. there is also the safety issue. its gonna be hard for someone to open the door and get u out when your unconsious inside with the thing wrapped around a tree and on fire...

and if your new actuators or the wiring to open the doors fail you are really screwed.

oh right, fair enough,

i remember having a ideal image of a mk2 golf,,, and alot of the ideas i want to bring to e30s. that being one of them, i remember seeinga few mk2golfs all smoothed over, and it looked the dogs danglies, hmm might just keep it good old standard.

bbut the says in a crash they know how to open a tvr but for a modded car its a no no but not stopped many of people doing it for mot i think it ok,even with a hidden switch, it would be nice only to have power to it when you dis arm the alarm but some thing battery power
could put a catch in the wheel arch or live switch in the boot as boot lock will still be on the car

I'd just delock it & colourcode the handles... Would definately look cool without but the whole emergency access thing ain't just to please the MOT man! :? Don't know how much 'poppers' would cost, but they'd be different for sure! :D

Battery dying's not a prob though - you can get into the bonnet from outside easily, or if your battery's in the boot, you'll still be able to get in there! :thumb:

ive got this gizmo on my cab! its brilliant! kit comes with a emergency switch that you can locate somewhere incase of battery problems! as dips said, best to locate in the boot, ive kept my locks and handles for time being just to make sure that it all works fine with no hiccups and in time i will only get rid of the locks...that way, if you have in issues with your battery, you just unlock the boot with the key and door will also open with the handle

but if your battery dead then unlocking the boot with the key, wnt activate central locking anyway ?

Ziggy pm me too please .. im intrigued..

i will have a battery in the back as well. so could jump start from the back?

It's for winners: mad:

Make sure you get some decent door pops though, I remember in the winter on my old nova years and years ago they used to get stiff and you could never get in the chuffing car, you had to tip warm water down the window so it made the mechanism loser: D
