nice! bigpimpin, pleeease could you take some close up pics of down the inlet ports? would like to see their shape etc. any measurements (in particular diameter of each port - not at the surface but further in) would be greatly appreciated too. actually, pics etc of exhaust ports too would be cool.
so what's the plan from here then? you bought a new bottom end or whole engine? you selling on the old stuff?

New engine arriving on Tuesday. Yes I'm selling off all the bits I can which should cover the cost of the original engine.

what was the vanos unit like to get off??
did u use the bmw tools or some other method? i've got to change the head on one of these imminently and have been wonderin how u do it. the vanos unit is the only part i've had nothing to do with yet. the rest is just 6 pot bm isn't it? is lookin good in that touring tho.

The vanos just unbolts and pulls off, no BMW tools used, just my trusty digits! winkeye
