My power steering fluid is very low and i was wondering if someone could advise the best grade and make of fluid, and where to get it from, preferably tonight?

Hi William,

ATF is all much the same as long as you get the correct grade. I believe it's supposed to be DexronII, but DexronIII is also fine.

I use Castrol stuff from Halfrauds myself.

Not sure to be honest.

I believe you can mix Dexron II & III in a system designed for Dexron II, but not sure what would happen if you put Dexron II in a Dexron III system (probably not much, but you never know).

Found the bottle, it just says 'Power Steering Fluid - compatible with all ATF fluids', but nothing about Dexron II

Im guessing it will be ok until I replace the rack for the MOT.

Should be fine. I really don't think it's that critical to be honest.

It's not like it's brake fluid or anything

Many thanks for the advice, I will get down to the stealers on Monday. Always like to use original stuff if I can, thats if they carry it!(they must do im sure)
