your mounts won't fit an e28 block mate.

what's happening with the ebay seller?

gareth, mine did that. if none of the obvious stuff fixes it (damp dizzy cap?), my 2p is on... take the ecu multiplug apart, get a multimeter with long leads and a motronic circuit digram (haynes manual one is fine, alternatively just match the wire colours) and check for abnormal resistance between ecu and sensors on each wire.

quite a few were screwed on my loom, wires looked fine but had 20 ohms across them intermittantly.

worth trying

So now we need two zone meets, one in scotland to "retrieve" an engine and one to fit it.

More tossers will continue to sprout unless ebay has a better anti fraud method.
touring and 7iron at the ready.

I'm sorry for this andy, guys like that give us scots a bad name

Simon wrote:Andy, have you requested his registered details from e-bay? It might eb worth a try, he might have put his home phone number in when registering.

It's worked for me a few times, the timewasters always get a shock when you phone them up...
I finally got around to getting his details so i'll give the toe rag a call tomorrow...........if the numbers valid !

One thing that i noticed is in his messages(before he stopped sending them) via ebay he called him self Martin but in his registration details the names different ?

Has this other person had their ebay account hacked do you think ?

I doubt it's been hacked, more like just fake details, does the address match the address you had to send the cheque too?

Gutted for you Andy,

Those are some major cracks, i dont think those were down to the bolts/tightening of them, i would say those cracks were going to come out sooner or later.

With the different colours of the exhaust manifold ports do they line up with bolt bore which has the crack? If not then i would say those two cylinders may have been running lean which might have led to the cracking of the block due to localised heat. If water was burning in the chamber i would expect to see little crystals in the exhaust manifold not white/brown ports.

Anyway if you need any help you have my number.

Andrew
