ive just put in my 325i engine, its a h reg car with the old style engine just put in,will i be able to run this engine off that ecu?

i think i just confused myself there! lol

no youll need an early 325i ecu mark

swop all the motronic gumph from the M20B20 (late) onto the M20B25(early) swop the waterpump over and thats all folks

073 ECU is a lot of work to downgrade to, 172 with 2.5 chip or 173 from a breakers, job jobbed.

yeh just realised after i posted that ants option would probably be better and easier in the long run as youll also need an early engine loom as well if you stay with old motron system

if you do go ant,s route let me know i have a325chip you can have fella can throw it in when i send you the tb no charge mate

its sat on top of fireplace doing nothing fella

my chip no is 1267355472 maybe ant can confirm this is the correct chip?? came from my 325i e reg so im told

just to clear this up then i just need to put a chip in the ecu that ive got?

yes to the chip

but youll have to fit the 320i motronic wiring loom to the 325 engine

ie move all the sensors etc from the 320i engine to the 325i engine

not as hard as it sounds fella so dnt be put off

im sure someone will have a bit more detail on how to etc

i was gonna do this when i had the 323 engine spare
