Guys,

I wouldnt mind abit more induction roar from the two zero (when its running again  ) but i'm not a fan of induction kits, tend to find they usually have a negative effect from a power point of view.

Is there anything i can do which will give me abit more noise but won't make any difference to the drive? 320's are slow enough! lol

Drilling the airbox will lose you power as the airflow is affected. You'll notice a torque loss in the midrange the most.

You can read about this on many Vw forums if you want the techincal stuff behind it.

ITG induction kits work very well.

Most induction kits do lose you power though - this is because they lose the inlet trumpet in the airbox and the filters have a very small surface area.

No one is silly enough to drill above the filter..............surely? 8O

Drill the bottom part of the box mate and stick with the panel filter (Get K&N!!) as your not gonna really get power gain's with the 2.0L. You won't lose torque as it's just gonna make a louder noise.

Take the bottom part of the airbox off and only drill several hole's on the left side of the box.
I've had hole's either side of my box before and found it was collecting crap in the bottom so got another box and just did the left side and haven't had any problem's :D
Make's a nice noise aswell

i cant believe you guys!!!! who cares if you loose a couple of ponies with an induction kit, stick a decent cold air intake or two, get it chipped up, cam it, exhaust it, do something somewhere else to gain the power back but for gawds sake!!! drillin your airbox... No! naughty! not allowed!

have a listen to mine,

lol i know where your coming from dude, but the fact is i don't see the point in spending money just to make something worse. I've had enough of induction kits now, my last being a gruppe M on my 328 - rubbish. I have heard a lot of positive comments about this ITG one now and yes this may be marginally better than the original airbox, but i imagine its the only one that is.

My box has a new K&N filter element in, why throw this away to fit a cone? i'd much rather retain my standard inclosed airbox, with a few holes drilled on the inner wing side to make it sound that bit better.

As for a 17 year old with a fiesta, wouldnt that be removing the whole thing and sticking a tight over the carb? lol!

Its gonna cost me nothing, sound better and still look factory, seems a no brainer to me

Technically, you'll probably lose a bit of power as you'll be getting warm air at lower pressure from the engine bay, instead of proper cold air from outside. Have to say, I agree with Hairy one on this...

Also, it would probably invalidate the insurance...
