ok this relates to an earlier post about my head gasket going.

on filling the expansion tank, the entire lot of water has gone straight into the head. Is this likely to be a new head gasket or a cracked head? Or, is it not possible to tell from this description?

cheers for all your help guys.

Gone where into the head ?
into the oil or out the exhaust ?

from the sound of it its fucked so why not just pull it apart and find out for sure.

as a guess id say it sounds like a big crack in the head but as above you really wont know until you take it apart :(

Going to move this to the "tech help" section. I think you're going to need lots!

If you are not personaly going to remove the head off the engine then there's little point in explaining to you whats wrong, so you may as well just take it to a mechanic and pay the bill.
If your not prepared to do that then the car is as good as scrap.

Let us know if you actually decide to spend some money on it, all the best :thumb:

Are you planning on just replacing the head or stripping, pressure testing it first?

Head of is fairly straight forward, the strip and rebuild you will require some specialist tools for though.
