Hi
Can any one help or give their tips my M3 has suddenly just started getting very warm in traffic the neddle dials in on the red with out any hesitation and it is concerning me.... Should I have a fan that cuts in at a certain temp ??? I know it has been lovely and warm but I'm sure it isn't the main reason.
The car stays at a constant and comfortable tempreture whilst in action but obviously on todays roads some traffic common...
Any clues tips or advice is very much appricated...

Sounds like wah t happened to mine - a thermostat stuck or broken - this then wont bring in the fan which sould come in at just over half way up the guage.

Quite costly from BMW, about 70 quid for thermostat and new switch for the fan etc, but cheaper than an engine rebuild on a s14!

Remember to bleed the cooling system afterwards!

Check fuses 3 and 18 first, if either/both are blown, then there is a problem with the electric fan, I had this problem, on turning the fan by hand, at one point on a revolution it would jam slightly, if the fan was to stop at this point, when next switched on it would blow a fuse.
