do you have a mayonnaise looking gunk around your oil cap as i think that is one way of telling, have you done a compression test, and whats making you think that there is a problem to start with

I've had a quick look at the car.
Although it was quite smokey on idle (white smoke) when i saw it, this could be attributed to the cold days we been having recently (saw it when it was snowing!)
The temp does not rise, and there is no mayo in either the water or the oil when i had a look!
Anyone got anything else?
