One of the tips of my cooling fan blade has broken off on my tech 1 sport.
Its only the tip of one of the blades but i understand that it may throw the whole thing slightly out of balance and over time this may ruin the bearing that the blade is attached to.
My question is, will any 325 cooling fan blade fit of do i need an early 325 fan blades?
Also would a used one be ok to use or is it best to go brand new?

many thanks

Later fan is slightly smaller diameter than the early one and has more blades.
It's a guess, but I think the later one and coupling from a scrapper would fit OK, as long as it doesn't sit further forward and foul the radiator.
Change the broken one before it breaks up and destroys the rad.

Many thanks Brian,
the rad is already shot so as soon as i had sorced a replacement rad and blade ill get them both replaced at the same time.
Is ther any harm in using a good used rad and cooling fan blades Brian?

I'M ONLY GUESSING. I have no experience of early stuff.
No problem using a second hand fan as long as it isn't brittle, and a second hand rad can be OK, although rads are really 100,000 mile service items.

Thanks Brian, ill probably go for a new one or even an electric as ive been told these are good.
Id be a bit worried about what would happen if an electric fan packed up though :?

There's nothing significant to be gained by going to an electric fan - They don't run for free. and reliability will be much worse.
Viscous couplings do occasionally fail, but not often.

Reliability would be my main concern. I dont use the car hardly in the week but most weekends i do tend to do alot of motorway miles.
Think ill stick to the tryed and tested original setup.
