ther's the culprit dude,

the 19# req a 2.5 bar fuel reg, and the closed loop ( lambda probe) to idle cleanly on a stock M20

your car is cat ready but will require the 02 sensor( plugs in under battery tray in engine bay ) and the correct chip to enable the CL

Why have you put the bigger injectors in though M8 ? the stock ones are good for 215-220 bhp @ standard fuel pressure

cat ready,it is pre facelift ?high comp engine Ant,is the tec 2 kit throwing ya?

they were bought with cam ,intake mods in mind .but andy has changed his mind that many times, and as they were so many intake /oil leaks ,i helped him strip down(hes ok at coffee lol,he plays a sort of tylerma role!!!!!!!!!!no offence intended to andy or tylerma ...lol) and rebuild with the option of the 19s being fitted same time-but some people claim this that and other.but i told him what you gain in one area you will lose in another.so have said m30 afm plus afpr ,and the 19s or just stick the 14.? lbs back in and see what the future brings!!!!

Also have you checked for vacuum leaks, especially the air intake bellow for cracks?

e-reg 88 ,but manu is 87 (which andys ommited)
r.e vac leak ,no leaks -ive just sorted it! plus the vac leak would allow the car to idle.this car is overfuelling due to ecu /injector cycle/fuel pressure and the fact its got no way of knowing its running this way,no oxygen sensor.

Regardless of the CR, the 19# are a good 25% increase in flow, and the ECU has no way to "know" that its rich as hell without the 02 feedback.

same applies to the AFM, as stock the later M20s run 16:1 AFR up to around 4K then go 13:1 ish depending on TPS activity

so now, given the 19# the car will be fuelling around 12-13:1 AFR over 2K ( off tps idle) so it will feel stronger, but response must be wooly at best, does the car feel V torquey ?

I'm not pop-pooing the mod, but the chip will have richened the midrange already, and now you've doubled up.

Wideband anyone ?

I have had a car where an air leak in the bellow (on th bottom) was so server that the car would die at light etc!

MS it !!

Alpha N algorythm, proper TPS and a mapping seesion, will run superb and be totally awesome in terms of throttle response.

I dare say economy would be far better than stock too.

no AFM wrongness to go wrong, and induction noise to die for

Looks great Andy, I work at Belasis so there most days, actually got told off by the manager of the place for going sideways round the car park and treating the place like a "race track", everyone's a critic....lol

Hope you get your new one sorted soon, will keep my eyes peeled for it, flash if you see me.

All the best
