Just bought an Alpine CD player to replace the Kenwood in my car.
Can anyone tell me if the plug in the back will be the same?

Trouble is Alpine came with no plug so i cant compare.

I have took the Kenwood out and both stereos have 16 pin fitting so will it work???
Dont fancy plugging the Alpine in and frying it

Anyone know?

Assuming you know the alpine model number, I'd download a manual for it - probably got a pin diagram in there somewhere?

If its not I'll have it as I'm after a Alpine head unit.

just to give a completely different answer to everyone else, if its got that small rectangular connector that nakamichi, alpine and kenwood all seem to use then the connector straight into the back of the HU should work with the alpine. i've done this between nakamichi and alpine, and nakamichi and kenwood before, just never kenwood and alpine! but do at your own risk blah blah blah

Cheers all for the advice!

Managed to get the correct Alpine plug of a mate, pulled out the Kenwood wiring, compared the 2 and they atre different wire layout so lucky i didnt just plug in the Alpine.

Anyway problem solved, just got to get the Ai-net to M bus connecter now so i can put my disc changer in :)

Thanks again everyone
