Help?
Is there a microfilter in the E30 heater/fresh air system?
My 1990 318is has an odd smell (!) which I can't get rid of so I wondered if there's a manky old microfilter buried deep inside the dash somewhere.
If there is one, how do you get it out?
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Microfilter?

Just a bit of a stale smell really that seems to be coming through the ventilation system..?
Apart from a microfilter, I couldn't think of anything else in the air system that could give off a smell?

check your carpets for moisture. Also check the vents next to the windscreen wipers. It is also possible that there are leaves trapped against the heater matrix.
