I want to mount a camera on the car somewhere (dash or side window) and wondered if anyone knows of a good supplier for these items?

Hi i use fast films and have always found them very good, they have a wide range of cams and mounts and much more. They have an online shop so you can take a look at the products and order online and a forum were you can get good advice.
http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/
i have a few vids here which show just how stable the mounts are, the video quality is pretty good normally but these have been compressed for the internet right click save as

Think this should do the job. its only for fast road drives and santa pod etc.

Link only takes me to shop front page so not sure which one you have gone for I use the one called suction pod and bought the extra knuckle joint to give more angles.

Sorry
the one i was looking at was the fourth one down. What type of camera are you using, that video is really clear and steady.

Great video
The quality was still good even with the compression.
A little off topic - what camera do you have? Im after some recommendations for a new digi camcorder (for track day use), although I am tempted by the bullet cam and digi recorder on the Fast Films site.

Thanks guys, i use a 480tvl bullet cam and a cannon MV850I cam corder which cost about £300 and the suction pod mount with extra knuckle joint. There are quite a few considerations when choosing camcorders and bullet cams etc and i am quite new to all this myself so i would most certainly recommened asking a few questions on fast films forum before you buy.
I used a cheap camcorder so i could film other things and also take a few still snaps with it for inclusion on videos.

I got mine from http://www.b-hague.co.uk It works fine and it's vibration free even with two cameras.
However, I want to use a HDD camcorder for better capacity, but I'm concerned that vibration might upset the HDD. Has anyone used a HDD camcorder?

I have the same mount as M3 Cmopact from b hague. Brilliant mount.
I currently mount mine on the windscreen with the sucker attachment as mounting it on my roll cage I couldn't get a decent view.

Hi guys,
I'm Dave from Fast Films, i'll try to answer any questions as impartially as possible, although I do have a bias of course.
The suction mount you list will be fine for Santa Pod, with the suction pod and extra knuckle that was also mentioned being a little bit more stable, and just as strong. Santa Pod are really good about allowing suction mounts, although it may help if you use a tether for peace of mind (although we have never had a mount fall off).
The clamp mount that was mentioned above we know as the superclamp and double ball tilt head, listed in the fixed mounts section of our shop. Can't fault this mount, both strong and with plenty of adjustment.
Take a look at some of our guides for more help - http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/filming%20guide.htm, or feel free to give me a call on 07718 368173.
Do any of you here race in what I know as the SELOC BMW series?
Cheers, Dave

Hi Jimmy,
I'm a member of Seloc and sprinted last year in their series in my Fiat Coupes, and this year in my Clio 172.
The BMW race series is one I would love to do in a couple of years when I have a bit more time and spare cash. Good luck

**Update**
Recieved the mount today, was a little delay due to cutoms but i was kept up to date by David. Quality of the service is great. couldnt ask for more.
Havent had a chance to try it yet but the suction seems very strong so all looks good.

Went for the helmet mount (not going to beused on a helmet but good for curvy cars too), good little system. Just need to get time to try it.
Thanks for your help.
