What to look for when buying?

I've owned an E30 before but I'm going to be looking over a 325i touring later and wanted to know what to check for? I'm guessing the rear arches are to be checked? The car is white with black leather and manual so sound just what I'm looking for.

rusty tailgates which also rattle
look for rust:
scuttle
front floor pans
sills
arches inner outer on the rear
rear valance
sunroof
everywhere! but generally tourings don't rust much at all
mechanicals can be sorted big rust holes can't!

Cheers for that, the car has a years MOT so should be fairly ok and to be honest if it lasts a year it will have served it's purpose lol
The owner sounds ok but a bit desperate to sell which could be good price wise, he says he has another car and needs it gone before the tax runs out at the end of the month.
