ive been offered a 750 long wheelbase E reg
is this a V8 or V12
dont know much about these but i think its the one with the similar front to a E30
probably wont keep it though although he did say its either 300 or 320 BHP!
i bet its horrendous on petrol but stacked with gadgets and leather air con etc as he recons it cost 63K new ! yikes
i might go have a look but im thinking it will be difficult to sell on what you think?

This is an E32 7 series with a V12 engine. The engine should have 300 bhp.
It would take a brave man to take one of these on. Not only will your fuel consumption be c15mpg but the chances of all the buttons and gadgets working is minimal. And when they do break the cost of repair will be more than the value of the car.
If it's being given away then enjoy it and have some fun. When the car breaks take the engine out and put it in an E30.

i dont know if he will let it go for £100
i guess as its been sitting for 2 yrs he might though
i was only going to get it if its a clean one anyway as i know its going to be hard to sell on
ive been watching a few on ebay and the prices vary wildly
i forgot its meant to be the long wheelbase one but i dont think that makes it worth any more though

to be honest-resale is not an issue here. i bought mine for £100 and sold it for £275 but it ate almost a grand of petrol in 2 months (cruise control at 120MATTTT wrote:i dont know if he will let it go for £100

Buy it if its clean and you want a big, effortless cruiser, but be wary, the eletrics and suspension dont like sittin for long periods of time

dont be to sure about that, as far as i'm aware most of the 740i and 750iL left the factory with self levelling rear susp, so £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£ to repair. can be replaced with normal rear susp if requiredMATTTT wrote:ok thanks for the info
i will go through all the electrics when i look at it
what about the suspension then<i guess its standard shocks and springs is it >

Every time i read a tread like this i am always amazed at how cheap cars are, cars depreciate at a ridicules rate. Its any wonder why people bother to even buy a new car. Here in SA cars do depreciate but not at the rate they do in the UK. The cheapest 7 series on autotrader now is a 1992 735i non running car going for R7000 or 583 pounds
